INVESTING THROUGH THE EYES OF A SOFTWARE HOUSE

When people think about startup investing, most imagine VC funds. But technology companies, software houses, and IT teams can also be compelling investors. They understand products, can assess technical risk, and are often able not only to finance innovation but to actively build it. In this talk, I explain how to approach investing from the perspective of a technology company and what both company owners and developers can take away from it. The session offers a practical view of how to invest in people, infrastructure, and products, and how to use innovation capacity as a competitive advantage over traditional VC.
My Roadmap
High School
I started programming back in 6th grade, creating small games and websites just for fun. One of my early achievements was receiving the Dean’s Award from the Faculty of Informatics and Information Technologies at STU. However, my real journey began in high school, where I met two key people who became both mentors and teammates — Martin Klempa and Grigor Ayrumian. Together, we laid the foundation for everything that followed.
Backend Developer
In my first year of high school, I started an internship as a backend developer at Wezeo. This experience helped me sharpen my technical skills and gave me valuable insight into working on real client projects. It was my first real taste of professional software development — and I loved it.
Warper
While programming was always a passion of mine, I knew I wanted to become an entrepreneur. In my third year of high school, I got the opportunity to work on a project called Warper, thanks to Grigor Ayrumian. Warper was a venture builder focused on helping launch and grow startups in Slovakia. I also organized the Warper Startup Awards, an event that brought together over 50 startups from the CEE region and more than 200 guests.
Wezeo Addventures
After Warper, I transitioned to the core company of our holding — Wezeo Addventures. Here, I'm currently focused on managing group investments, launching new joint ventures, and supporting spin-offs within our ecosystem. It's a space where business strategy meets innovation, and I get to be involved in building what's next.
